School Buses Replace City Buses in Cuba
It’s been noted many times before that Cuba has a transportation crisis. Cars are very expensive, so most people simply either get around on foot, bike, or use cheap, communal taxis (taxis particulares). Public transportation, via buses, is severely overcrowded and undependable.
Over the recent years, Cuba has tried to deal with these public transportation woes by importing more buses, particularly, older model school buses. It’s a cheap fix and it does seem to be working.
