Street Vendors in, Cuba
A common sight in Havana, and anyplace in Cuba. Independent business owners set up shop on terraces and front yards, selling goods and repairing old items. Some of the most common forms of business involve repairing watches, mobile phones, jewelry and shoes.
This vendor hotspot, located in Vedado, just beside the Habana Libre Hotel, also has a man selling art. Art is one of the largest Cuban exports and can be a very lucrative business. As a tourist, you just have to make sure that the art your buy has all the proper export labels, or else you will have to pay a hefty export duty or the art can be seized at airport customs.
