The apartment has 1 bedroom with 1 queen bed and a bunk bed (2 single beds). This is ideal for couple traveling with children. The apartment also has a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room and a modern bathroom. There is a quiet, modern air conditioner.

The apartment is located on the grounds of a large house, where the landlord, Julio, lives. The landlord gives his guests complete privacy but is available to answer questions.

I like urban exploration, so I was happy to learn about the “hidden” places to explore in Havana. I loved walking inside the abandoned buildings. No other guides explain how to do this. If you actually want to explore Cuba on your own, and learn about Cuban life, you need this guide. Books from Globe Trekker, Lonely Planet and Rough Guide are pathetic in comparison.

The listings for the cheap casas particulares is awesome. I rented a large, private apartment, and it cost only $25 per night. I booked online and saved more than $10 per night. I avoided the hidden brokerage charges that other websites charge. Anyway, I saved a lot of money on a 10 day stay. Well worth the price of buying this book.
