ROOM 2: This room has a balcony, 2 beds (one large and one personal), with total capacity for 3 people, fan, air conditioning, bathroom with hot and cold water and refrigerator.

There is also a large terrace on the roof of the casa which is shared by both apartment. The terrace overlooks the town and also offers panoramic views of the Vinales Valley.

Price: 25 CUC per night, per room in low season. 30 CUC in high season.

I like urban exploration, so I was happy to learn about the “hidden” places to explore in Havana. I loved walking inside the abandoned buildings. No other guides explain how to do this. If you actually want to explore Cuba on your own, and learn about Cuban life, you need this guide. Books from Globe Trekker, Lonely Planet and Rough Guide are pathetic in comparison.

The listings for the cheap casas particulares is awesome. I rented a large, private apartment, and it cost only $25 per night. I booked online and saved more than $10 per night. I avoided the hidden brokerage charges that other websites charge. Anyway, I saved a lot of money on a 10 day stay. Well worth the price of buying this book.
