The casa particular offers 2 large bedrooms, each with their own living rooms and modern, en-suite bathroom. It is the perfect place for a couple to enjoy a nice relaxing time in Havana. Each room has air conditioning as well. Guests receive the keys and can come and go as they want.

At the back of the house there is a massive covered terrace space with chairs, tables and hammocks for relaxing. There is also parking for vehicles if needed.

I like urban exploration, so I was happy to learn about the “hidden” places to explore in Havana. I loved walking inside the abandoned buildings. No other guides explain how to do this. If you actually want to explore Cuba on your own, and learn about Cuban life, you need this guide. Books from Globe Trekker, Lonely Planet and Rough Guide are pathetic in comparison.

The listings for the cheap casas particulares is awesome. I rented a large, private apartment, and it cost only $25 per night. I booked online and saved more than $10 per night. I avoided the hidden brokerage charges that other websites charge. Anyway, I saved a lot of money on a 10 day stay. Well worth the price of buying this book.
