Take Boxing Classes in Havana At The Rafael Trejo Boxing Gym
This is one of the most famous boxing gyms in Cuba and even the world. The amazing Rafael Trejo boxing gym, located at 815 Calle De Cuba in Old Havana is not must to look at, but the caliber of boxers trained at this gym is world class. Olympians have trained in this humble gym and gone on to world wide success. And you can train here too. For about 5 to 10 CUC per day (even less if you negotiate or train for several days or weeks) you can work out a this gym, get professional training from former professional boxers and spar with fantastic up and comers. Learn all about it in the Real Havana guide.
For more info on this gym, check out their Facebook page!
Hello, my name is Johnney Roye. I own a boxing club in England & would like to bring two of my students to train in your gym with your coaches. Is there any available dates in August please? They are both 11 years of age, thank you for your consideration.
Hi, the gym is not mine. I just wrote about it. There is always space at the gym. You just pay the trainer a few dollars and he will train the kids or let them fight. You just show up and for 5$ or 10$ you can do whatever you want.
Hi do you have an email address for the Rafel Trejo gymnasium ?? Thx
Hi, as far as I know there is no email to the gym. The gym is basically just an open space between two buildings. It’s a vacant lot with a small structure in front. I don’t think they have a computer or anything. Some of the trainers must have internet, but I can assure you that the ones with email access will charge much more. This gym is really the kind of place where you just walk in and talk to people and negotiate a training price on the spot.
I understand & thank you for your response, could I trouble you for their email if possible please?
Hi, your best bet is to look on the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gimnasio-De-Boxeo-Rafael-Trejo/206295919519228
I will tell you that most of the trainers at the gym do not have email. Email is rare in Cuba. Most trainers just hang out at the gym in the afternoon and they will do training for a bit of cash. The guys advertising on facebook are usually the ones who will charge you more money. But still, you can contact them and set up a couple of training sessions and then negotiate lower rates or just chat with other coaches and trainers and find the guy you like best.
take care man,
Mario

I had the opportunity to be there in 2021 and they have made a major reform of its facilities, thanks to international and national aid they have painted and changed the ring.
There is less activity than before because of the coronavirus but the children continue to train in the afternoon and the adults in the morning.
Thank you for your article.
