As every year, the enormous Plaza de la Revolution, in Havana, will host the main rally and festivities related to the International labor day. President Raúl Castro is expected to attend, as well as the new Secretary general of the Confederation of workers of Cuba (CTC), Ulises Guilarte.
The celebration comes after the twentieth Congress of the CTC (Union), held in February, which adopted a new labor code and new statutes, and discussed, among other issues the worrying problem of low wages and pensions.
