Project Description
In this video I show you how to take a cheap, communal taxi from the Vedado neighborhood of Havana, all the way to the Playas del Este beachs in Guanabo. The taxi fare is only about $2, so it’s really cheap and in my opinion, this is the best way to get tot he beach in Havana.
The Playas del Este are located in the eastern suburb of Havana, about 20 minutes away from downtown Havana. They are some of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba and locals flock to them by the thousands during the hot summer months. The sand is fine, the water is warm and calm. Very few tourists visit these beaches because there are no major resorts in the area and regular taxi service from Havana to the eastern beaches is relatively expensive. Follow the tips in this video and save tons of money on your next taxi ride to Guanabo beach!
The video is great! You should put up a Google map with pins to help with orientation 🙂
If I would read your article before, we would save on the pricey american classic car, but it was a once in a lifetime adventure anyway. Playas de Este were among the top beaches we visited on our family trip to Cuba. The shore was clean, and some interesting fish swam around us. A friendly tip: bring your swimming goggles to Cuba. There are many underwater already in the shallow seas.
Great info, thank you!
